One of the most important processes for a well-functioning warehouse is the product infeed. The Amphora EMS methodology can be implemented in two different ways. The first is the most advisable, as this way the arrival of the product at the warehouse can be predicted and, once there, the process is quicker and more efficient. The second one is also useful but with this one there is no forecast of the arrival of the product.
Start from Go - end in the App
The first option offered by Amphora is to initiate the entry from the Go platform to speed up the process when the product arrives at the warehouse.
Follow the steps below to learn how to perform product entry from Go:
-
Open the Go page with your username and password.
-
In the side menu, go to 'Product entry' and click on 'New reception'.
-
Select the warehouse where the inventory will be received.
-
Specifies the date on which the warehouse will receive the inventory. The calendar will show the saturation level of each day so that you can organise your arrivals.
- Specifies how the inventory will arrive:
-
Monoreference shipment: there is only one SKU (reference code) per box/pallet. You must specify whether it is a box or a pallet.
-
Multi-reference shipment: there is more than one SKU per box/pallet.
-
- Specify the products you are sending:
-
Add them from Go.
-
Download the template provided by Amphora and import the CSV. When you click on 'Download template' you will be presented with a drop-down with instructions on how to complete the document correctly.
-
-
Click on 'Add new box' (you can add as many as you want) and specify how you will organise the shipping units.
Enter the number of boxes/pallets and the number of each product to be contained in each box/pallet. It is important to note that, for example, if you specify that you will send 5 boxes and in the quantity of product you put 50, a total of 250 units of product will be sent, i.e. the units are multiplied by the number of boxes you send.
-
Review the submission summary and confirm it to complete the first part of the process.
Once you have completed the product entry in Go, you will have to wait for the product to arrive at the warehouse to process the arrival. You will then need to follow the next steps.
-
Open the Amphora app and from the side menu select 'Inventory'.
-
In the bottom bar, select 'Arrivals' and click on 'Process Arrival'.
-
Scan the QR code on the label of the box or pallet. Below you can see the products that are inside the box or pallet. Confirm to continue.
-
Upload the delivery note of the products in the box or pallet. If you do not have a delivery note, click on 'No delivery note'.
-
Here you can see an overview of the products that have arrived in the warehouse. Click on each product to place it in a location.
When you click, you can add how many units you want to place. Apart from this, you will be able to see up to three different options:
- If you do not have available storage locations in the warehouse, you will need to create one.
-
If there is already a location in the warehouse that contains the same product, you can click on it and then search and scan it to place the product.
-
In the event that the product does not have an assigned location, you will have to find a free location in the warehouse, scan it and place the product.
Start and end in the App
Amphora also allows product input from the app. In this case, it is necessary to wait until the product arrives at the warehouse to start it. Here are the steps to follow.
-
Open the Amphora app and from the side menu select 'Inventory'.
-
In the bottom bar, select 'Arrivals' and click on 'Process Arrival'.
-
Click on 'Create Arrival'.
-
Add the delivery note.
-
Click on 'Add product' and specify the quantity.
-
Add a photo of the product and click 'Save'.
-
Below is a summary of the arrival. Review it, click on 'Create Arrival Proposal' and then on 'Finalise Proposal'.
-
From here on, the steps for placing the locations are the same as in the first input option. Click on each product to place it in a location.
When you click, you can add how many units you want to place. Apart from this, you will be able to see two different screens:
-
If there is already a location in the warehouse that contains the same product, you can click on it and then search and scan it to place the product.
-
In case the product does not have an assigned location, you will have to click on the '+', search for a free location in the warehouse, scan it and place the product.
- If you do not have available storage locations in the warehouse, you will need to create one.
